Vanessa is a passionate girl, born in 2007, who lives with her 2 brothers and her father in a one bedroom house with limited electricity. Her mother left her and her dad when she was very young, but Vanessa often visits her to keep a relationship.

Her father works part-time jobs to support his family but struggles to get a full time consistent job. Vanessa is now in primary school, where she is especially interested in Social Studies. Vanessa likes to learn new things and is always first to want to answer the teacher during the after-school program. She is also really clever and it makes her a great personality to be around. Her dream is to become a nurse when she grows up.
In her free time, she loves to play with other kids and she he has a lot of friends at Hope Shines. Her favorite “sport” is traditional dance, which she learns diligently during the dance instruction offered every Saturday at the learning center.
